I Really Really Love Ronda, Part Three: The Waterfalls
Hiking to the waterfall took my stay in Ronda to another level. The hike itself was very challenging, and involved a lot of climbing large rocks and problem solving and risk taking. You want to swim in the falls? You got to earn it.
Here are some pictures of the "path":
My first attempt to get to the falls was during the dusk, and I went with another solo traveler from Austria. We got 3/4 of the way there, because we were short on time (no way I am getting stuck there in the dark) and also because we did not think it was possible to go further. We enjoyed the small pool of water and small waterfall we arrived to.
The next day I learned that there was a bigger and better waterfall, and so I went on attempt number two with my Estonian roommate. She knew what she was doing. Once there, we spent some time at the falls, watching rock climbers and cliff jumpers (I was not so bold), soaking in sun, and taking dips in the water.
So. If this sort of activity appeals to you, and you are traveling in Spain, I highly recommend going to Ronda and staying for at least two nights at Los Molinos.
